Three Adverse Effects of Aesthetic Forehead Deanimation

Aesthetic injections, Botox and Dysport, are the most effective non-surgical treatments for unwanted forehead wrinkles. They are easy to inject and usually work well. But the side effects of its use occur and it is usually an unintended or unwanted aesthetic effect.
The most feared and well-known complication of injection neuromuscular facial treatment is the dilated upper eyelid, known as ptosis. This occurs when the toxins are absorbed or migrated from the injection site in or around the eyelid down the upper eyelid. The position of the upper eyelid margin drops down, covering several sections of the iris. This is easy for everyone to see and no patient wants to walk for months with eyelids on the 'half mast'. This is the result of injecting too close to the eyebrows or inserting large quantities at the injection site near the eyebrows. Fortunately, eyelid ptosis is very unusual as there is no known reversal or cure for this problem other than to let it wear out.
One of the most common side effects is unusual or unnatural forehead movements. When the area between the eyebrows (glabella) is treated, the vertical stripes and grooves disappear but the forehead is not affected. For those who have very active forehead movements, this may result in paralysis of the central zone in the middle of the moving forehead area. This can also cause the eyebrows to be raised in the middle to the side but not to the eyebrow area closest to the nose. (known as Spock forehead) This abnormal forehead movement can be easily managed by the sharp placement of injections elsewhere on the forehead to soften the movement and create less active but more symmetrical forehead and eyelid movements.
The last forehead effect is the unwanted reduction of the eyebrows, also known as ptosis. When too much injection is done on the forehead and forehead, the eyebrows may be heavy and actually fall off. The eyebrows can change, too. In some cases, placing high injections along the scalp can cause the eyebrows to grow even though this may not always work.
Botox and Dysport have a profound effect on the movement of the facial muscles where they are injected. But forehead movements, eyebrows and eyelids can all be affected by this injection and can sometimes be too good. In some cases, the injection is 'offset'. additional work can be done to overcome how muscle movements are affected. When in doubt about whether more injections can work, I prefer to use Indianapolis plastic surgery to first use local anesthetics lasting 24 hours or more and see if patients find it helpful ... before proceeding with a longer action. injection. However, the upper eyelid ptosis is irreversible and will have to wait.
