Microdermabrasion and Micropeel - Secrets For the Best Anti-aging SkinCare Result

Microdermabrasion and Micropeel are two of the most common anti-aging skin care methods used today. However there are a large number of microdermabrasion machines available and only a few produce effective skin and visible results.
More importantly, the machines used in the doctor's office are allowed to become stronger and more effective than machines sold to a spa or salon. The aesthetics of microdermabrasion and Micropeel are very different in the skills and understanding of these techniques. Medical aestheticians working in a doctor's office are highly trained and experienced. The fact that they work under the supervision of a doctor allows for more effective treatment.
Your decision depends on the way your skin is treated and how well the medical aesthetics and its machines work. Below I will discuss how Microdermabrasion and Micropeel work, what they can achieve for you, the best machines, and how you can tell if you are receiving good treatment.
How Microdermabrasion Works
Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation technique that removes dead and damaged skin cells from the skin, neck and décor. After the new treatment the new skin cells are brought down and the skin looks and feels smoother. Shallow skin pigments or brown spots will lighten.
Studies have shown that after repeated treatment of fine wrinkles, a new form of collagen in the skin layer is better known as the dermis, and the sun spots are gone or shiny. There are important facial rejuvenation and anti-aging skin benefits:
Benefits
o Deep extraction

o Removal of Sun Damage

New Collagen Growth in Dermis

o Good wrinkle removal

o Better penetration than Retin A and other Topical Agents

Technique

This technique uses small glass tubes with holes in the sides. Continuous suction is passed through the tube by the machine and small sand like silica particles is passed through the glass tube by the machine.
When the tube is released on your skin, the suction pulls your skin into a stream of flowing silica particles and protruding particles that fade or release dead, damaged, and pigmented dead skin cells. This is exfoliation.

The Best Microdermabrasion Machine Is In The Doctor's Office

Companies that manufacture these machines are only allowed to sell power units to salons and spas. This weak machine does not work. If you want to see effective results, you will need to undergo treatment by an experienced medical aesthetist at the doctor's office.
We use a Megapeel machine. Dermagenesis is another good brand. Many machines do not have enough power to provide adequate suction to clean the skin.
There are many new chemical machines that do not use silica particles, but my patients prefer the original method of using silk and silica particles.

How To Tell A If You Have a Good Treatment

o Your skin will be pink or red

o Your skin will feel fine

o Your skin will get a little irritated

o You may have some skin peeling after a day or so

Micropeel
Micropeel is a combination of dermaplaning (scraping dead and damaged skin cells from the surface of your face with a scalpel) followed by the use of liquid AHA (glycolic acid) solution for the skin. This is often called "lunch" because Micropeel (TM) can be done and you can usually get back to work after the skin.
Micropeel provides both mechanical (dermaplaning) and chemical peeling. Although this sounds more complex, the Micropeel is a softer skin. We use Micropeel to:
o Dry skin

o Sensitive Skin

o Patients with Rosacea

Salicylic acid, which is stronger than liquid glycolic acid, can be used for deeper skin. When Salicylic Acid is used this technique is called Micropeel Plus (TM).
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes about 30 minutes.

What is the Cost of Care?

Efficient treatment with better machines and the right technique is done in the doctor's office by an experienced physician. They will cost more than they do at a salon or spa.
In Boston where I practice the following are typical costs:
Micropeel- $ 70.00

Microdermabrasion- $ 125.00

Where Do I Do My Treatment?

The benefits of having this treatment by a medical aesthetist at a doctor's office are:
o Medical Supervision

o Stronger, more effective treatments

o Access to topical prescription drugs

o Proper Safety Management If You Have Problems

This is my favorite non-surgical face-to-face non-surgical procedure. This in-depth exfoliation technique including Retin A and Vitamin C Serum topical is the foundation of anti-aging skin care for all my patients.
These techniques work, they are safe, effective and fun to experience. What could be a better way to start the anti-aging skin care process? It's not too early to start.
