  2. I use Purity by Philosophy w/my clairisonic...it gets all makeup off and is non irritating. Can you recommend a good sunscreen that won't cause breakouts or greasy skin?

  3. You have to use BHA 1% from Paulas Choice! once a day! its soft enough for dry skin and do its job against blemishes, it swear by it!!

  4. Angie, at the age of 53, I still have breakouts! I finally found the Eucerin wash for redness. I found it also did a great job taking off my makeup without over drying from your morning routine.

  5. My skin has never tolerated Retin-A. I actually got wounds from it. I now use the Cosmedix Skin line from my doctors office and am having wonderful results with it.

  6. I just turned 50 also. I use the same cleanser & Mia. Will try the eye primer for covering pimples but be cautious when using the sponge tip on pimples. You can spread bacteria by dabbing. I dab on a clean finger then cover.

  8. I know this is a weird comment but I speak from experience; the area of your break outs seems to be from using your phone. I became aware of it and tried to consciously keep my phone away from my face and it did help a lot. Also I do use a spot treatment that promises a one day cure by Clean & Clear. I heard your opinion on that and it did make a lot of sense but this one at night does the job in 2-3 days max. I just turned 50 as well.I really appreciate your videos--great research & advice!

  10. My skin is fair with a pink undertone & can keep a discoloration forever as well. I was looking for "something" one night before bed to put on my face to help improve things when I spotted my drugstore brand Neosporin. So I dabbed it on my discoloration spot, from a healed pimple, with a q-tip and it helped. Did it the next few nights until the discoloration went away. This product does speed up heal time for me if I have a cut or scrape which is why I thought to put it on my face.

  11. I'm a new subscriber and I have to tell you that you look great for 50. I'm 37 and just on here to get tips for my skin.

  12. Thank you so much! Again, you talk of an issue that I am facing as well, right now! LOL I have been using gentler cleansers too, the CeraVe one in fact, for a while, but I also get the occasional (hormonal) pimple and I recently bought the Aveeno Clear Complexion foaming cleanser AND it dried out my skin after only 2 uses!!! So I stopped. I will try my NYX primer (very good for oily lids and mattifying) to cover pimples, as it has a bit of skin-like color to it.

  13. I also find that my nearly 50 skin is healing slowly now :(

  14. Now salicylic acid is my enemy :) I read ingredients of everything I eat and put on my face too, and as for beauty, you won't believe how many so-called soothing products do contain salicylic!

  15. Ya it's not fair to have pimples in my 50's. Never had any during my teenage years! But now I always have a unwanted guest sitting around my chin. I think menopause and losing more estrogen takes havoc on our skin. Especially how long it takes to heal. I also think as anti agers we tend to use thicker moisturizing products and they sometimes clog (especially fairer skin). Anyways I share in your frustration ugggh!. Thanks for the tips!

  16. YES! That is another bad one for all of us, and it pops up in the strangest places, like in creams that should be "soothing".

  17. I agree, the Clarisonic Mia does wonders for cleaning. Do you also have the Opal, the sonic device for applying serums?

  18. Such good info Angie! Since I've recently amped up my skin care (ie. retin a, vit C & glycolic) I've been getting more breakouts. I think my skin is going thru a purging process....but ugh, been getting zits one at a time in different locations. I too have been doing what you said w the salicylic acid. It's too drying and the mark lasts forever. SO appreciate this video!

  19. Hi Angie, I'm also going through this so I was wondering what do you use if you missed any potential pimples with the Bright Therapy?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Put Retin A on it, and it will go away the next day, try it, I do that.

  21. Hi Angie, Thanks for the video. Always so much fun watching. I'm 51, tend to have normal to slightly oily skin & still get 'subterraneals' as I call them :0 My derm doc told me to do as little to my face as possible with regard to cleaning, picking, exfoliating, serums, creams et all and when I get a pimple happening, to use Spectro Acne Care cream. Applied VERY sparingly to the zit with a cosmetic Q-tip. It does have Benzo-p. I apply it & within max 3 days not even a mark. xo Elaine

  22. You look fantastic at 50. I am 46 today and I am so glad i found your channel!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh I had this problem till I turned 56, and then went from extremely oily and acne prone skin since I was 12, to my oil glands shutting off and so no more zits, but now have normal to dry skin which is a first for me.

  24. Thanks for info on the lid primer, gonna try that as my lids are still oily.

  25. A big hi from England to New England! Its a shame you dont live next door to me, I'd definitely be inviting you over for a cup of tea and a chit-chat. I love your down to earth attitude towards aging & the hits & misses we all come across when trying to be the best we can, despite the unavoidable ticking clock. Its so refreshingly honest and thats what us hot and flashy ladies need. Keep blogging!

  27. Dear Angie, I would love to see a review on Ultrasound Facial Treatment it's so many different Ultrasonic Home Facial Massagers, I just lost :/ wich one will work on a aging skin. Thank you very much ! <3

  28. I'll have to check out the cleanser. Cetaphil, for me, is way too drying.

  29. I've been using green clay since years, even my son who is way younger than me, do so as well. It's green, in powder & needs to be mixed with water. In France, we could find some already mixed in tubes, but I didn't see that here in the US. Of course, it's usable only at night, otherwise we would look weird in the day with it! You can find some in stores like Erewhon, or probably Wholefood, or on Internet as well. The American clays are powerful! It cleans & heals by a natural way.

  30. I'm 46 and I've been using Nano Cyclic cleanser (pink formula) for years. It's expensive, but I swear it's the only thing that keeps my skin clear.
