Possible Causes of Eye Wrinkles after Eyelid Surgery, and How to Treat Them Non-Surgically

A woman had a lower blepharoplasty in 2007 and now at 34, she looks older than the wrinkles and wrinkles beneath her eyes. He is looking for treatment options that can refresh his eyes.

Dr. Amiya Prasad says it is important to understand that when people consider blepharoplasty, sometimes artificial swelling can make the wrinkles look smoother. Just like when a person is fat, their skin can look smooth and wrinkled even when they don't look healthy.

When dealing with fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes, Dr. Prasad depends on several factors, one is skin type. For skin and light skin that may be sensitive to the sun, there are some key procedures. One procedure is called fractional CO2 laser. This laser is based on the principle of applying heat energy to the skin of the skin called the dermis to create new skin or collagen. By doing so, there is a contraction, evening and smoothing the skin until the wrinkles are deeper. It is important to understand that the goal is not to get porcelain flat skin. No matter how smooth a person's skin is while still, when they smile, there will be some wrinkles.

In addition to the fractional CO2 laser, Dr. Prasad uses an application known as platelet rich plasma. In this procedure, he takes the patient's blood as a normal blood drawing and turns the blood to isolate the platelets. This part of the blood is used for healing functioning well in the treatment of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, small scars and other problems that are helped by generating new collagen. Platelet-rich plasma also stimulates blood supply to areas where fillers cannot.

The end of this equation is to reduce the depth of wrinkles by reducing the muscle activity of the orbicularis oculi which causes the wrinkles to form when you smile. Dr. Prasad will use Botox or Dysport to relax the muscles so that the skin does not wrinkle constantly to cause wrinkles.

In addition to other procedures, if one has a tight schedule, he or she may use a radio frequency device called Pelleve. Pelleve is a non-surgical radio frequency technology in which skin is heated to the dermis, similar to a CO2 laser. Unlike CO2 lasers, it does not penetrate the skin so that one cannot show that they have anything to do. Like CO2 lasers, the skin generates collagen to help improve skin quality.

In short, the combination is better than the individual treatment. So fractional CO2 lasers, platelets rich in plasma, Dysport or Botox and Pelleve are options to help smooth lines under the eyes.
