5 Steps to Area Rug Bliss - No More Wrinkles, Buckles and Bunching EverAgain

To make sure your Rug Area experience is an absolute joy and happiness, consider these 5 tips.
1. Buy Eligible Area Carpet
Rugs are often purchased as impulse items. When you need rugs to maximize your decor or to cover ugly spots, don't go into the temptation of buying a special chain store, based on color and price alone. Area rugs should be good decorations, not cheap ones. You do not need to break the bank. High quality wool fiber rugs are available in the style and quality that suits most budgets. Fine wool fiber rugs can be purchased online and shipped directly to your front door for the same price as the chain card seller.
2. Buy New Zealand Fiber Fiber Rug
Wool fibers chopped from New Zealand sheep are the best fiber for area rugs. Why New Zealand sheep? Because they were raised to produce "quality carpet" wool fibers. New Zealand wool fiber rugs will be soft on the feet and very durable. Most effects are not a problem; just gently remove with warm water for best results.
3. Make sure it is at least 12mm up to a 14mm pile density
The density of area rugs will play an important role in its life and performance. Cotton or olefin (polypropylene) rugs or runners with no secondary support are just problems. Carpets without sufficient density will shrink, warp, buckle and clump. Not to mention the battle for ownership that occurred when you tried to clear it. Vaccines almost always win this battle as you try to use your feet to keep them under submission and exit the suction tube. I don't know anyone who likes to always customize and straighten their rugs. If you buy a carpet with sufficient (or heavy) pile density, it will stay where you put it and behave as you vacuum. I prefer carpet at least 12mm. Especially if they are placed on wall-to-wall rugs. Buy solid rugs and let gravity keep them in control and control.
4. Cotton or Jute Backing is preferred
Although cotton or jute support is preferred, many rugs are made with secondary support. I prefer woven rugs without secondary support. Because you can tell if it's a good quality rug when you can spot the carpet pattern when looking at it from the back. Whether the carpet is handmade or woven must be woven into something. Cotton or jute is preferred, but polypropylene mesh is fine when used on the back of the rug (but never fibers). However; Some rugs require secondary support to increase density and weight. Also consider how the rug is attached. Single-supported rugs require only a little bit of latex to keep them in place while secondary support rugs require more latex to get support materials. If your carpet maker uses synthetic latex for bonding, your nose will be happy. It will only have a new carpet smell for a short period of time. If your carpet maker uses a lot of real latex for secondary support, it will most likely be the scent of rubber burning for years to come. Especially when the weather is hot. Most of the nose and eyes are sensitive to real latex in larger doses. If you have chemical sensitivity, stick to a single supported carpet that does not use heavy synthetic latex.
5. Do not place heavy furniture on your area rug
Area rugs are often meant to define and describe space. If your rug is too big for the area you are decorating you will be tempted to put a rug under your heavy furniture. When heavy furniture is placed in the covered area, they can often cause bunching and wrinkles where the furniture foot identifies themselves to the rug. This can cause the most beautiful and expensive rugs to look smooth and fast. Indents, wrinkles and rugs of heavy furniture can also be more durable. To avoid costly carpet repairs on the road, keep four to six inches of heavy furniture. (Coffee table is good, sofas, hutches and entertainment systems are uncertain). Although not always. Some carpet applications can cause the need for compact and sturdy rugs (or pillows). I always recommend using an all-felt or synthetic rug.
Avoiding wrinkles, friction and bunches on your area rug is as easy as pie when you consider using these 5 tips. Carpet your new area can be a joy or a nightmare. Always buy good quality (not museum quality) New Zealand wool fiber wool rugs with woven and single-strand or jute backing, and do not place them under any heavy furniture. Follow these rules and your new area rug will be a joy for years to come. Visit our website for more on area rugs, home decor items and information.
