  1. Hi Angie! I love your channel, when should I start using retin-a? I’m 24 and battling PIE and hyperpigmentation after acne, I’m currently using the ordinary to improve my hyperpigmentation. I’d like to start retin-a at 25 but idk if I should wait till I’m 30. What do you think?

  2. The link for the curology is no longer valid

  3. I rub it on my spots and acne. Is it fine too? I mix it with a little adapalene.

  4. Those of you who use tretinoid do you mean Retin-A (whatever %) ? Sorry I am new to this...

  6. You are amazing and I'm so glad I found your channel. A very intelligent, honest, minimalist approach you have. I'm interested in starting tretinoin, I have used accutane a couple of years ago, it was amazing for my skin and I know they are related (however accutane can be quite dangerous). My question: I live in a tropical place, there is a lot of sun here. A lot. Even if I'm not trying to get tanned I end up getting sun on my face from just driving, doing work errands etc. I use mineral sunscreen fps 80 and sometimes a hat but am still worried about using any acids. What are you thoughts on this? Thanks!

  7. Thanks for your advice, just started using the tretenoin cream tonight, I will take your advice and start once a week first. Thank you much.

  8. Really informative, thank you. One of the biggest questions i had with retin-a was with regards to using a moisturizer. I iust wasnt sure if i should apply a moisturiser on top of retin-a or before. Now i know i can do either depending on how i feel. Thank you. You really know your stuff. Liked and subbed.

  9. I've completed 3 years using Retin A. I'm currently on the highest percentage. I love the way my skin feels as compared to my previous pictures!! 😊 thank you Angie!

  10. Hi Angie, do you put retin-a on your nose too?

  11. I recently saw a video on concerns regarding retinA causing deaths??? Saying glycolic acid was preferred and does same thing. The dr made the video at your request..can you comment on this? I currently use .05 strength 3x a week (3yrs now). What are your thoughts on this? Are you still continuing to use? Help plz!

  12. Hi Angie do you use your other serums during the week when you are only using retin A once a week Like cit c serum etc.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Angie, do you personally ever use your tretinoin/retin a without anything else?

  14. The Curology link isn't working, can you please update it when you have a chance?

  15. I went up to the 1 percent Retin A and was fine for weeks- using three nights a week. I didn’t put anything under it except an essence and only SkinMedica eye cream under my eyes - nothing else on top. The last two weeks I have been getting a few like red ‘burns’ for lack of a better word. Last night I had what looked like a red welt but night before was non-Retin A. On non RetinA nights I use an essence, Skinceuticals Reservatol, SkinMedica HA5, TNS Essential serum and Cerave night cream..
My morning regimen is essence, Skinceuticals Vitamin C, Revision eye cream, HA5, Essential serum and lately Obagi HydraLux (once started getting burn like spots) and Elta MD sunscreen.
Sorry so long but do you see a culprit here? I’m doing nothing different than I did before and the 1 percent was not causing any problems

  16. Angie, do you think it is aafe to use retinol in tropical countries? I life in indonesia.

  17. Hey Angie, I started to use 0.05% tretinoin cream last week (for twice), I applied the cream 10 mins after washing my face and then I applied HA serum from the ordinary and face cream from first aid beauty. I have ZERO redness and flaking, is that bcos my skin already used to Sephora sold retinol serums (never have irritation as well)... Even the hydrating level of my skin stays the same... Is that normal?? (Ps, my day time routine is the same as before: HA serum + lactic acid + VC serum + face cream).

  19. Hi Angie! I just saw an ad on Insta (curse you, IG!) for a company called Hers that does rx tretanoin. Do you have any experience with this company or the product? Thank you!

  20. Hello, does it thin your skin, and cause redness that is permanent? I don't wear
    Makeup. Thank you.

  23. CERAVIE WASH BURNS !!!!!!
Hello there Angie. I’ve been on Retin A since January this year and I haven’t peeled once after using your excellent advice. I’ve used all non perfumed and gentle washes and serums and recently ran out of my cream wash so I decided to try the Ceravie wash as you highly recommended it. It’s only just become available in boots in England.
But it really really burns my skin. Nothing else has burnt my skin. I’m thinking I may be allergic to one of the ingredients- but yes I was extremely shocked by that xx

  24. Hada Labo sunscreen too!!! Fantastic!

  25. The real retin a is very expensive like up to $200 or more but with good rx you can probably get it for somewhere in the $100s even with like good rx or insurance. But the generic tretinoin is not that expensive especially if you use good rx. It lasts for months if you get the big tube so you’re not filling it every single month. I’ve had mine last for like 6 months and paid like $60-80 for it 0.1% cream of tretinoin. The cream is less irritating than the gel.

My derm prescribes it for acne but it’s great for anti aging too. But I don’t see great results for acne with it so I’m trying to change my diet and get a better overall skin care routine going bc I’m getting older n I have to work for good skin now lol

  31. Im 28 but am starting to see fine lines. I have a lot a freckles and fair skin.. do you think is it too early to start using Retin-A?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I use a Clarisonic at night followed by a toner, Sk-ii Essence, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, Clarins Double Serum, Estee Eye Cream, & Estée or SK-ii Moisturizer. Where should I put the Tretinoin in my routine? Also, which online websites are good to get a prescription from? I’d sure appreciate your help and thoughts on this. Thank you, Lindsay

  33. Hi, I would like to incorporate Retina A in my skin care routine but I works overnight and I sleeps during the day. So is it okay to use Retina A in the morning before I go to sleep?

    ReplyDelete
  34. After watching this video (the first time) I decided to incorporate Retin-A into my skincare regime. I did as you said started with once a week, then twice a week and am now up to three times a week. And have had no problems (ALMOST) so funny thing all the videos I watched everyone always warns about Retin-a on the neck so I was cautious about that too - turns out for no reason cuz my neck has zero issue with it - However for some reason it makes my chin freak out... so that is one part of my face I absolutely cannot go anywhere near with Retin-a.
